Mission:
BCAGlobal empowers BIPOC individuals in the food industry through a framework of mindfulness, sustainability, social justice, and food sovereignty and helps forge meaningful connections to further our vision of a beloved community.
Vision:
The BCA is the premier organization for welcoming and training food professionals from BIPOC communities (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) to careers and opportunities in the over $900 billion culinary, food service, and hospitality industries. We are proud that our almost three-decades-long track record and our vision for our future align with and support the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
At BCA, we have historically adhered to sixteen of the seventeen outlined goals throughout our many programs and initiatives. Our signature program, Mindful Eating for the Beloved Community (MEBC), is designed to educate the community about healthy food practices and elevate wellness as a primary goal. We have always emphasized food justice, equity and diversity in the culinary space, and we will continue to create opportunities as we challenge entrenched injustices. As we approach our third decade, we will strive to meet our goals and those of the UN SDG with an emphasis on raising financial support and bringing in thought leaders and advocates to help us achieve a sustainable future for the community. BCAGlobal seeks to continue contributing as an active UN SDG partner towards the 2030 target.
