The DFG funded Research Training Group GRK 2670 "Beyond Amphiphilicity: Self-Organization of Soft Matter Via Multiple Non-Covalent Interactions" focuses on the dynamic structuring of polyphilic soft matter. Here, dynamic means that the relevant molecular self-assembly has significant motions on the pico- to microsecond scale, but can govern the overall system on very large length and time scales. We thereby investigate the emergence of order of molecular systems on multiple length scales with simultaneous dynamics of the building blocks. We aim to improve our understanding of the emergence of complexity in molecular systems and to discover design principles for generating nanostructured materials by exploiting multiple non-covalent interactions.
