Be/longing HK is a community arts-for-education lab that harnesses the transformative power of storytelling to cultivate and co-create cultures of inclusion for Hong Kong’s ethnically-diverse communities.
The stories we tell are part of the ties that bind our communities – they reveal our histories, cultures, and identities. The stories we tell about ourselves and each other are mirrors that reflect our experiences of being, longing, and belonging.
OUR PROGRAMMES
1. COMMUNITY
We feature local and diverse talents through film screenings, photo exhibitions and arts festivals. "Seated with Strangers" which celebrates the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (IDERD) is an arts festival which aim to provide annually.
2. ARTS-FOR-EDUCATION
Our flagship 10-course programme aimed at high school youth enhances their concept and capacity for belonging in the community through photography, writing and project management. This can be adapted to corporations and institutions.
3. LAB
Feel free to reach out to us if your business would like to discuss DEI solutions, and collaborate through arts and events.
4. STORYTELLING
We specialise in "Chats Over Cha," which facilitated discussion forum concerning different areas of social impact. We are working to hold panels every four months to bring together key persons from varying areas to promote collaboration.
