The Besal Lighting Education Fund was established in 1983 as a nonprofit endowed fund in tribute to the late Robert J. Besal. Mr. Besal contributed more than 30 years of knowledge, professionalism and service to the lighting industry.
The Robert J. Besal Memorial Education fund has awarded nearly $1.5 million in scholarships to students in illuminating engineering programs. The Besal Fund aspires to encourage talented and committed students to excel at studies which will lead them to a career in the lighting industry.
The Fund is made possible by contributions from Acuity Brands Lighting, its agency partners, sales representatives and employees.
Students on campuses who have qualified for the scholarship can apply for the merit-based scholarship through the University Besal liaison. For more information on qualified schools and application requirements, please visit www.besalfund.org.
