BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) is a non-profit, apolitical student NGO that has its network in 33 European countries in 96 universities. BEST-Riga is a local BEST group that is based in Riga Technical University.
Our mission is developing and priority - to offer high quality services for students all over Europe and to bring together all the stakeholders of BEST - universities, companies and students. BEST-Riga has more than 40 active members that work out of their free will; take their own initiative to organize events for the both local and international students. On the local level BEST-Riga is recognized by the leading companies of Latvia that have appreciated the high quality events and partnerships.
At this moment BEST-Riga has 40 active members of RTU that represent all 8 faculties. Each one of them is different in their beliefs, thinking, experience and interests. But they all have one thing in common - the passion and love they share for BEST. BEST-Riga is more than just a NGO, in the last 20 years has become a sort of school, where students develop themselves learn things by doing them, and the overall experience they gain is essential in the future life of every BESTies.
In the year 2006 BEST-Riga was approved as a NGO beneficial for society.
In the years 2010 and 2012 BEST-Riga was awarded with Charlemagne Youth Prize and recognized by the EU parliament for their contribution to promote higher education among students all over Europe and the strengthen the European identity in general.
