We are providing free education to unprivileged children since 2014, Who could be street children, children bonded in labour, children of commercial sex workers.
It was started in 2014 by educating underprivileged street children.
What is the Idea behind Lumos foundation?
In India,
-Over 3 million children live on the streets!
-Over 150 million children working as bonded laborers!
-Despite having a national policy for compulsory primary child education in India and a child labour policy, only 50% of children have access to education!
Now think about this :
Every educated person is not rich, but almost every educated person has a job and a way out of poverty.
So education is a fundamental solution to poverty.
Lumos Foundation believes "Whether you are addressing healthcare, poverty, unemployment, environment crises, Overpopulation or human rights, there's no better place to start than in the corridors of education."
