The Borneo Forestry Cooperative began in 2009 when two companies with similar philosophies on sharing research outcomes, became the founding members of the BFC. Over the past 14 years, the Cooperative has developed a network of international specialists in tree improvement, silviculture, nursery, plantation health, and processing that assist our members in developing sustainable and highly productive plantations. Now incorporated as the BFC SABAH FOUNDATION, we continue to make vital contributions to the successful future of industrial tree plantations in Borneo. BFC is firmly focused on first principles and science-based decisions. Sharing knowledge, and experiences between members, and collaborating with the wider forestry community, are core values of the BFC. BFC regularly holds symposiums, workshops, and open days to provide a forum for various stakeholders to come together to share experiences, knowledge, and a vision for the ITP industry. BFC is looking to cultivate a sense of urgency - the best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago, the next best time is today!
