BHSL Waste Solutions is an Irish agri-tech company that has developed a unique, patented system (Fluidised Bed Combustion) to convert the untreated poultry manure into energy for heating, cooling and electricity generation to meet the energy needs of the farms.
The Fluidised Bed Combustion (FBC) is ideal for low value, variable moisture content fuels and is recognised for its ability to minimise harmful emissions and to maximise combustion efficiency.
The by-product of this process is an easy transportable, high P&K fertiliser.
This low cost abundant heat allows the poultry producer to manage relative humidity through an optimal ventilation philosophy in very bio-secure conditions, which drives the production efficiency and improves bird welfare.
This system attracts green subsidies and low cost green finance which on top of fuel savings and improved production efficiencies delivers a triple bottom line benefit for the poultry producer.
This is a transformational technology for the industry and is regulated in Europe under Animal-By-Product regulation 592/2014.
