Bijoy International (Action Joy Enterprises Ltd.) was created to serve underprivileged women and children who are victims of human trafficking in Bangladesh.
Our work brings purpose and dignity to Bengali women, including their children and others at risk. Because of their circumstances, these women have usually lost all hope and are desperate for a glimpse of freedom from their oppression.
The organization is multi-faceted and operates in many areas to address present and future needs.
Being integrated in women’s daily lives, Bijoy provides targeted assistance at the time of need. Bijoy is engaged in ongoing counseling and therapy both inside and outside of the brothels and government institutions.
We have created a process for teaching the women how to make handicrafts to be sold, which generates income for them. The women have successfully made several different handicraft products that are competitive in the international market. Some have succeeded so well that they have been certified in professional training and receive a steady income. We also teach financial accountability and management.
