Travel agencies that organize bike tours can be certified as "Greek Bike Specialists" after they follow successfully an online training session.
The "Bike Friendly" label was introduced to Greece in 2016 by the Civil Nonprofit Company NATTOUR which promotes sustainable tourism with an emphasis on cycling tourism. Cycling is an eco-friendly mode of travel with the lowest carbon footprint of any mode of personal transport. Cycling Tourism connects travel experiences and points of interest.
In order to enhance the concept of cycling in tourist destinations, NATTOUR organizes the "Bike Friendly Days" at the certified destinations with various activities.
