BioCare Diagnostics, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Kenneth Rice, MD, FACC, as an independent diagnostic imaging facility. Our first location was opened in Brookline, MA providing diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound (Echocardiography), Exercise Tolerance Testing, Stress-Echocardiography testing, Holter monitoring, and event monitoring. In 1993, with Joseph Polak, M.D. as our medical adviser, we expanded our range of services to include vascular imaging, comprising cerebrovascular testing, peripheral extremity venous and arterial ultrasounds, and abdominal vascular exams. In 1995 BioCare continued to expand, opening a women’s diagnostic imaging center in Crown Colony, Quincy, MA providing: • Gynecological ultrasound • Abdominal ultrasound • Obstetrical ultrasound including Level II and Level III • Fetal non-stress testing (NSTs) • Biophysical profiles • Nuchal Translucencies (NTs) • Hysterosonograms • Screening and diagnostic digital mammography • Breast ultrasound with and without biopsies • Perinatology/Maternal-Fetal Medicine (High-risk pregnancies) • Genetics & Perinatal counseling The MFM imaging and onsite consultation of Boston MFM is under the direction of Kee-Hak Lim, MD, FACOG; Medical Director of BioCare Diagnostics’ Women’s Health Center. Our Screening and Diagnostic Digital Mammography Division is under the medical direction of James Snider, MD, of Boston Breast Diagnostic Center. BioCare Diagnostics currently provides inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging services to many area clinics and hospitals including, but not limited to, Braintree Rehabilitation, Spaulding Rehabilitation, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham and Lahey Arlington. BioCare Diagnostics strives for high-resolution ultrasound imaging, a professional cooperative relationship with hospital and clinical practice physicians and staff, providing high quality patient care from expert sonographers.
