We work to advance and promote human-centric nonanimal science research. The Biomedical Research for the 21st Century (BioMed21) Collaboration—comprised of an international team of scientists, policy specialists, and communications experts—emerged after recognizing the urgent need for change following a 2015 review publication, highlighting the limitations of current biomedical research paradigms built on animal models. We work in partnership with academic institutions, governments, charities, agencies, and the corporate sector to advance our objectives, in a spirit of respect, dialogue and inclusion of diverse viewpoints.
