The Biorisk Institute, or “BI,” is a Canadian-based non-profit organization established in 2022 by Dr. Stefan Wagener.
Our mission is to provide professional training, education and learning opportunities for today’s biorisk and infectious disease prevention practitioners. Our focus is on biosafety, biosecurity, and bioethics in the laboratory and research environment and infectious disease prevention in the cleaning and disinfection industry worldwide. In addition, we promote the implementation of international standards like ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 35001:2019 and, with our partners, make the world a healthier place one day at a time.
