A particularly successful recent project from June 2016, which was to reduce bed occupancy, has resulted in our Trust clients reducing from 178 occupied beds to 134 within three months of our mentoring programme. We also improved patient care outcomes. The Trust saving is already over £2m (from a £50k fee) through stopping out of area bed use, reducing trust bed use and selling spare beds to other Trusts, and the benefits are still increasing.
