Birdee helps to create a personal relationships between customer and retailer by providing sales staff with relevant customer information such as, the name, relevant life events, and order history.
Bricks-and-mortar businesses have significant advantages over e-commerce business which are mainly based on personal treatment of customers. However, being friendly is not enough anymore and many businesses lost their advantages. Long lines at the check-out, generic approaches, inflexible solutions, and little transparency is not accepted anymore. The problem is that in many cases the shop-floor staff are unaware of who their customer is and hence find it incredibly difficult to offer a solution that is tailored to their specific needs.
We provide sales staff with relevant customer data, like the customer’s name, relevant life events, shopping frequency, and order history. Unlike loyalty cards, this information will be given to sales staff the moment the customer walks into a store, rather than at the check-out. We gather the data through a smart camera which is installed in the entrance of the shop and recognises customers. Then, the system pulls the related customer's data and creates a brief overview of the customer which is accessible for staff through an iPad App. Customers are required to sign-up and create a profile in order to be recognised. We will not source data online but instead use the data that we’ve collected over time. With the customer’s information on hand, the sales personnel can create a shopping experience which is tailored to the customer’s specific needs including information like, their favourite brand, and shopping preferences.
In the emergence of Amazon we already see the impact on traditional retailers and in order for them to differentiate and be successful they need to personalise their shopping experience. Birdee will allow traditional retailers to truly build an engaging relationship with their customers.
