Established in 2016, the Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Processing Lab (BISPL) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), is led by Dr. Md. Kafiul Islam and Dr. Tasnuva Faruk. The lab actively engages in biomedical research by collaborating with both undergraduate and graduate students. BISPL maintains strong partnerships with local and international researchers in the fields of biomedical signal processing, classification, and instrumentation.
The lab’s research spans various applications, including brain-computer interfaces (BCI), human-computer interaction (HCI), disease diagnosis, neurological event detection, and smart healthcare solutions. BISPL works with a range of biomedical signals—EEG, ECG, EMG, EOG, among others—to process, analyze, and classify them for both clinical and non-clinical use.
