Team 2220 has 51 students and nine mentors, all dedicated to our primary goal of promoting STEM equity. Our team has a high amount of sustainability, which is based on three main factors. First, we have extensive training for incoming students using a new onboarding system and written documentation in Google Drive. Second, we set goals and adapt our outreach to current circumstances. We offered virtual soldering classes and applied for grants to provide our STEM classes for FREE. Third, Team 2220 has a strong vision for the future; we set aggressive goals, work to achieve them, and use a SWOT analysis to evaluate strengths and opportunities and identify areas for improvement.
We do our best to ensure that we uphold our team mission: to conduct STEM outreach, build student leaders and expand FIRST locally and globally. We spread FIRST through our four innovative outreach initiatives: Eagan FIRST Robotics, Women In Robotics Empowering Sisters, Robots Without Borders, and STEM in Action. In the past 3 years, we conducted over 40 outreach events annually and this year we reached more than 30,000 people.
