Body Empowerment Project

Body Empowerment Project is a nonprofit organization that teaches people the skills to live peacefully and healthfully in their bodies through meaningful, near-peer interactions. Our current programming includes Be Body Positive Philly, Be Body Positive UPenn, and nurse/teacher eating disorder trainings. Be Body Positive Philly addresses eating disorder risk among Philadelphia high school students through a body-positivity curriculum led by trained Penn undergraduate volunteers. As recipients of the 2021 University of Pennsylvania President's Engagement Prize, we received $100,000 to expand programming to more than 300 students across 7 Philadelphia public high schools.
