Founded in 2008 by 2 designers living in Shanghai and Belgium, bodybag represents the merge created by exposure to a variety of raw materials, a means for production not feasible in many other parts of the world and a european aesthetic.
As architects living in Shanghai they work with and are surrounded by unusually large and inhuman structures. bodybag is an idea to take architecture to a much smaller more human and intimate scale - whether a body label, an addition to the body or your personal space, they like the idea of designing for emotions and desires without getting distracted by or lost in the details.
Seeking top-quality materials and craftsmanship, most bodybag products are hand made, a reflection of the urge for detail and uniqueness.
bodybag is Wendy Saunders and Debby Haepers.
After graduating as architects from St Lucas Art College in Ghent they worked independently for over 10 years as architects and gathered outside experience in furniture design, scenography and photography before finally meeting up again in Shanghai.
