The Boitjhorisong Resource Centre (BRC) is a Mathematics, Science and Technology Resource Centre located in the Metsimaholo Municipality in the Fezile Dabi District of Northern Free State, registered as Vaal Education Trust.
Vaal Education Trust, t/a Boitjhorisong Resource Centre (BRC) is a registered Non-Profit Organisation and a Corporate Social Investment beneficiary strategically located in between Zamdela and Sasol Sasolburg Operations. The Centre was incepted in 1991 as an adult education centre and MST school support. Founded with the aim to promote and upgrade teaching and level of scholastic achievement of Maths and Science and provide relevant adult and community education programmes, BRC has over the years evolved and now acts as a hub, within the Fezile Dabi district, that enables performance improvement in Maths and Science school disciplines and enhancement of skills development for teachers, learners and out of school youth. With its proven track record, BRC is relied on to deliver on the National and Provincial mandate of basic and higher education support. To that end, BRC has been acknowledged by the Department of Basic Education in playing a significant role in the Fezile Dabi District.
Through its longstanding reputation in delivering sustainable education support in the Fezile Dabi District, BRC has benefited thousands of students as well as teachers from the surrounding towns for the past 20+ years. In addition, community development interventions such as CV writing skills, offered by BRC has proven to be of much value.The portfolio of programmes that BRC is currently implementing includes STEM learner and teacher support interventions, Technical Education Programmes, Environmental Programmes and Skills Development Programmes.
Over the years BRC has strengthen its efforts of engaging with schools through increase in the number of mobile lab sessions offered, hosting teacher development workshops, supporting learners with Career Guidance
