Welcome to the Computer Science Department at Boston College. We are committed to advancing the state of the art in Computer Science, and to providing a challenging and exciting education for our students.
Faculty members maintain active programs of research and publication in distributed algorithms and systems, natural language processing, data mining, and the theory of computation, with additional faculty expertise in programming languages, computer engineering, and social and ethical issues in computing.
We offer academic programs leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science, as well as a minor in Computer Science, and an assortment of introductory-level and Core courses for non-specialists. Our advanced students have the opportunity to carry out independent study and to collaborate with faculty on research projects.
