brown girl surf began in 2011 with a mission to create waves of change in the surf world. Beginning with a journey to meet and share the stories of the first female surfers around the world, our work touched millions, inspiring women and girls from Bangladesh to the San Francisco Bay to follow suit and create waves of change of their own.
As that journey is complete, we are heartened at the ripple effects of change that continue in all those our movement touched. While our storytelling and cultural commentary will continue, we are now embarking on a different kind of journey: creating a circular surf brand that gives work to women and that centers beauty, care, connection, sustainability and love for Mother Earth.
