“Buta Insurance” OJSC enjoys the 16 years of development history. Receiving its first license for
insurance activity, in March 1996, “Buta Insurance” OJSC entered the Azerbaijan insurance market
under the name of “Anglo-Azerbaijan Insurance Company”. Starting from 2000, she was renamed and
continued its activity as “Thames Insurance Group” OJSC. Operating as a joint company, 51% of shares
of “Thames Insurance Group” OJSC were owned by Azerbaijani residents and the rest 49% belonged to
the residents of the UK.
In 2005 and 2007, the “Thames Insurance Group” has been nominated as the best company of the year.
In April 2012, the company has been purchased by companies appurtenant to “NAB Group of
Companies”.
On July 26, 2012, through the decision of the new shareholders, “Thames Insurance Group “ was
registered as the “Buta Insurance“ OJSC.
At the present time, “Buta Insurance” OJSC offers 26 (twenty six) types of insurance.
Presently, the company provides services through Ganja branch and 6 regional representative offices
located in Sumgait, Khachmaz, Lankaran, Ismayilli, Yevlakh, Sheki.
