At Cal Poly Concrete Canoe (CPCC), students work together on a year long project to create a concrete canoe from start to finish. The hard work of our captains include designing, constructing, and racing a concrete canoe at the ASCE National Concrete Canoe Competition, where teams are judged on technical paper, presentation, racing times, and final product. Our team is proud to have earned 7 National Championship victories, making CPCC the most decorated team in the nation.
The success of our team stems from attention to detail in every aspect of the competition, from a thorough hull design process, careful quality control and assurance in construction, to a clean and smooth aesthetic finish that allows our canoe to elegantly cut through racing waters. In reaching these goals, our captains and volunteers gain valuable industry-applicable experience through various engineering disciplines.
