CalciTech Europe Ltd. Overview
CalciTech has an environmentally sound and sustainable industrial process to reuse and upcycle waste sources of lime whilst at the same time capturing waste carbon dioxide (CO2), a Green House Gas, to manufacture calcium carbonate, an industrial mineral with multiple applications. CalciTech can provide solutions to waste disposal particularly in paper recycling, food processing and industrial waste from the manufacture of plastics, all destined, ultimately, for landfill. Additionally, the recycling of waste lime will lead to a reduction in quarrying and shipping of limestone, the main raw material in other calcium carbonates. Quarrying and shipping are both large contributors to environmental damage. Other environmental advantages of our process include the generation of green energy, the recovery and purification of water, and the rehabilitation of industrial waste sites previously unusable for new brown field projects. Our technology, recognized by the European Commission as “convincingly and significantly improving on conventional processes”, makes major steps towards meeting EU key policies of the Circular Economy and its Waste Directive, crucial to protecting the environment and combatting climate change. CalciTech’s product, Sustainable Calcium Carbonate (SCC), is unique in that its many improved values are delivered directly from the reactor with no further processing and provides users with a specialty material with a negative footprint.
