The Capital Area Master Naturalists (CAMN) are a chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists (TMN) program. The Capital Area Chapter is based in Austin, Texas and is a 501c3 nonprofit. All members of CAMN are volunteers. CAMN is supported by the TMN program, sponsored by Texas Parks & Wildlife and Texas A&M Agrilife Extension. The mission of the TMN program is "to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within our community." To become a member, you must complete a rigorous training session over several months, learning about Central Texas wildlife and ecology. After training, members are expected to complete at least 8 hours of Advanced Training and at least 40 hours of Volunteer Service annually, dedicated to the community and the TMN Mission.
