The Cardiff University Structural Performance Laboratory (CUSP Lab) is home to advanced facilities that are open for access to business and academia.
We utilise 3D scanning laser vibrometry, Acoustic Emission (AE), ultrasonics, video strain measurement and an acoustic camera to detect damage in structures and materials. As a laboratory we develop and characterise advanced materials using a large scale autoclave, resin infusion, thermal analysis equipment (DMA, DSC), mechanical characterisation facilities in line with international standards.
