Carers NSW works with all carers regardless of their age, location, life-stage or circumstances. This includes those caring for individuals with support needs relating to ageing, disability, health and mental illness, drug or alcohol dependency, chronic conditions, terminal illness or who are frail.
We are the only statewide organisation that has carers as its primary focus.
We are a not-for-profit registered charity. In June 2015 Carers NSW status changed to company limited by guarantee. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors in accordance with the Corporations Act 2001 and the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012.
We are part of a national Network of Carers Associations and work collaboratively to lead change and action for carers.
Carers NSW acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land, and pays respect to Elders past, present and future.
