Many carers: - live in poverty as caring prevents them from securing paid work, however a lot have no choice but to work, so are working in addition to carrying out a caring role - often have significant health problems themselves due to the physical demands of the care they undertake - can experience low self-esteem and depression due to the isolation - lose contact with their friends and social support networks as a result of the hours of care they provide Registered charity number 1119369
