Carlsbad Swim Masters • Ability: Like all masters programs, there is a full range of abilities from novice to expert. • Schedule: Workouts are Mon-Fri at 6:00 AM - 7:30 AM, Mon-Fri at Noon - 1:15 PM, and Sat at 8:00 AM - 9:15 AM. • Pool Location: 3401 Monroe St, Carlsbad (760) 602-4685 Carlsbad Masters work out at the high school pool (Exit I-5 East on Carlsbad Village Dr for 0.7 mile, then right (South) on Monroe for 0.3 mile. Carlsbad Swim Complex is on the right). • Pool Description: The pool is an outdoor 25 meter by 9 lane pool. Masters workouts share the pool with lap swimming, and gets 6 lanes on weekday mornings, 5 lanes on weekday noons, and 7 lanes on Saturdays. Our sendoffs by lane (short course meters) are 6AM workout: 1:25, 1:30, 1:35, 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, Noon workout: 1:25, 1:30, 1:35, 1:40, 2:00. All deep water lanes - makes you fast! • Individual Coaching: Individual attention (not private lessons) is like most Masters teams - it is there if you ask for it. A lot of masters don't want feedback, and just want to hammer a workout. Coaches get reluctant to give feedback unless prompted. The more specific you can be, the better, for example, "I have been working on keeping my pull from crossing over. How am I doing?" or "How is my breathing?" • Workout Description: Mon Wed Fri and Sat are all freestyle. Tue Thu are medley and kicking. All workouts begin with a pull set (600-1000 meters), and then a main set of 1200 (medley days) to 2000 (freestyle days).
