We are a student-led business in Leeds that is in the process of creating a small quantitative hedge fund. By utilising our knowledge in econometrics and quantitative programs, we seek to grow the long-term capital of our investors sustainably.
In terms of time scale, our business can be classified as pre-trading as our primary quantitative fund will begin operating between late March and April 2022. Still, we currently have a website and social media platforms in the works which, will be completed by early March. Furthermore, we have developed a concept plan and a basic program that will assist us in choosing what public companies to invest in.
This idea of creating a hedge fund came to us when we were discussing financial markets and companies. We quickly realised there was potential to make significant returns by combining our knowledge of finance and technology in the world of public equities. Moreover, we also want to use our presence on the internet to publicise financial research from other University of Leeds students for potential employers. By connecting our digital infrastructure with the Leeds University Business School students, we can allow employers to look directly at student case studies and other research, increasing the employability of our peers.
