Casey Group LLC provides consulting services for selected small and medium-sized businesses in the Pacific Northwest -- those that recognize a need to update their policies and procedures, to improve productivity and compliance while reducing risks and costs. • Management may see a need to review and update their policies, procedures and technologies for records and information management. • Stakeholders – including Legal and IT teams – may realize that they need to build consensus across business functions regarding Information Governance (IG) objectives, strategy, and implementation. A typical consulting engagement starts with an assessment of current policies and practices, and continues with development or update of business policies, procedures, processes, training, and technology approaches. • Most projects include review and refresh of existing policies for Records and Information Management (RIM) and the associated Records Retention Schedule (RRS). • If desired, Casey Group LLC can also identify laws and regulations that may set a minimum retention requirement for specific categories of records, for review and application by in-house Legal teams or outside counsel. • An IG engagement may also address measures to protect the privacy and security of sensitive information – e.g., data on customers, employees, finances, or trade secrets. • Of course, effective policies and procedures must also be designed to identify and destroy old records and data that are no longer subject to RRS retention requirements (or Legal Hold orders).
