Based across Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock, Catchment to Coast will harness the power of nature to reduce flood risk and protect delicate coastal ecosystems from erosion. The project will use a suite of innovative techniques to make space for water and slow the flow of water through the landscape, pioneering new ways to reduce coastal erosion and re-establish precious saltmarsh habitat.
The project is one of 25 national projects within DEFRA's six-year Flood and Coastal Resilience Innovation Programme (FCRIP).
