Cellfion

At Cellfion, we develop next-generation, PFAS-free membranes from nanocellulose, extracted from trees and engineered for hydrogen technologies, flow batteries, and ion-separation processes. Spun out from over a decade of research at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Linköping University, our membranes are crafted using a process inspired by papermaking, enabling scalable production. As the industry prepares for a PFAS phase-out, we offer a timely, sustainable alternative. Our work bridges material science with real-world application—driving innovation where performance, adaptability, and environmental responsibility meet. We are based in Sweden, actively collaborating with industry and academia to build cleaner energy systems for the future.
