The Center for Community Resilience (CCR) partners across business, community, philanthropy, public education, healthcare and public health, advocacy groups, and social sectors to transform existing and foster new policies, programs, and practices that address adverse childhood experiences in the context of adverse community environments – the Pair of ACEs. Using public health as a platform for social and systems change, CCR’s work brings multiple disciplines together to help investigate, identify, isolate, and address the multiple factors that drive the intractable issues — including structural racism — threatening family and community prosperity across the nation.
Known for our rigorous approach to translation of theory and research into practice and policy, CCR works to influence systems change. We catalyze change by helping partners identify the root causes of economic, social, and health disparities, lift community voices, improve and integrate service delivery, and build political will for change through practice, policy, and systems innovation. Recognizing the strong connection between trauma and systemic inequity, CCR centers communities to create equitable access to resources, tools, and the policy supports needed to promote resilience.
