Centre for Profound Education Trust (CPE) is a non-profit charitable trust catering for the needs of the mentally ill disadvantaged, poverty stricken segments of society in Pakistan. The organization specializes in providing neuropsychiatric and clinical psychology services through its five satellite clinics, three of which are located in the rural areas around Rawalpindi (Villages-Mohra Fatima, Sultanpur and Sial-Chakri), while two urban centers are located in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. CPE also runs a model center for Autism Spectrum Disorders and Learning Disabilities in Rawalpindi.
CPE provides opportunities for training doctors, clinical psychologists and allied professionals in neurosciences; neuro-psychiatry, clinical and social psychology, drug/alcohol treatment and rehabilitation, child development, autism spectrum disorders and learning disabilities.
These services run under the direction of Professor Shakil Jahengir Malik, Consultant Psychiatrist and through him are professionally supported by Sussex Partnership NHS Trust, University of Sussex and PRIME (Partnerships in International Medical Education UK).
CPE is a registered charity governed by board of trustees chaired by Lt Gen Shahid Iqbal HI (M) (Redt) and independently audited by Peter & Co. chartered accountants.
