The CERC Lab in Waterborne Pathogens in the School of Environmental Science at the University of Guelph is a research group focused on the development of low-cost and open-source solutions to safeguard water supply in Canada and around the world. Our primary areas of focus are the development of innovative smart sampling systems to monitor water quality at the source, and the development of models that integrate pathogen and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) sources, fate and transport. Our research program will build knowledge around how humans interact with sources of contamination and work toward the reduction of pathogen loads in the environment through low-energy, low-maintenance, no-chemical treatment systems. We are actively recruiting PhD trainees: Get in touch to learn more.
