CGI’s is an independent limited company based in Meopham, Kent and was formed in 1998 by three directors, all of whom previously worked and completed apprenticeships at AEI Cables, Ian Abbott and Gary Watkins remain as the current directors of the company today. The management team is skilled in the jointing and termination of cables from Low Voltage (LV) up to and including 132kv, up to 33kv Paper Lead Cables (PILC) and up to 132kv Polymeric Cables (XLPE).
CGI’s provides a comprehensive cable installation service including any associated civil engineering or containment work, specialising in both Low Voltage (LV) & High Voltage (HV) cable jointing and terminating up to and including 132kv. Our team of approved HV, LV and fibre optic jointers possess a wealth of experience between them, as do our numerous highly competent cable installation teams who all take great levels of pride and care in their work. We have also worked on long term asset replacement projects, removing old transformers and switchgear and replacing with new.
CGI’s have been involved in offshore wind farms from the very early stages of offshore renewable energy development, making significant contributions to both the UK’s (North Hoyle) and to Holland’s (Egmond) first offshore wind farms.
Since the completion of our first offshore projects we have gone on to contribute to the majority of the UK’s offshore wind farms and a number not in UK waters, including but not limited to North Hoyle, Scroby Sands, Egmond Aanz Zee Holland, Lynn and Inner Dowsing, Kentish Flats, London Array, Thanet, Teesside and Meerwind.
