The Shanghai office opened in 2008 after 10 successful years of working in China from the London base. Chapman Taylor Shanghai is led by Hualei and Peter Mackey, can exploit fifty years of experience and know-how of the London HQ office, maintaining at the same time its own design and managerial identity, utilizing highly trained employees with local skills and understanding of the country.
The practice benefits from Chinese design creativity combined with English pragmatism and works on projects of different scales, from urban regeneration and master-planning to individual buildings, undertaking all levels of detailing, interior and environmental design.
