Business Viability: With the traditional approach of loss management in segregated manner over various departments, who are already overburdened with regular day-to-day job, the focus on loss management is diluted. Till now, Indian Insurance companies have been struggling with ICR crossing 100% .
In such gap losses, frauds and abuses are sprouting out. Hence the presence of external reviewers focused to LOSS MANAGEMENT only, by means of interdepartmental coordination, quality training, audit of process, verification of triggered claims is becoming a mandate.
IRDA, National Health Agency all are now concerned with loss management program. But PAN INDIA standard process is yet under evaluation. Along with that, the field verification by the insurance companies are a constant requirement.
