Chitrakala Arts is a premier Indian classical dance institution providing training, performances and new creative choreographies- specializing in Bharatanatyam and Odissi styles. Lead by Chitra Shankar, the Artistic Director for the school, Chitrakala now has grown from humble beginnings to over 100 students from different backgrounds of religion, race and language in two centers in Singapore.
Chitrakala Arts is a melding pot for an interest group that seeks to learn, understand and appreciate Bharatanatyam and Odissi styles of Indian Classical Dance. Chitra and her team of teachers and students continue to perform across multiple platforms- temples, community clubs, associations, premier events and for event organizers across the ASEAN region.
Chitrakala has a wide range of offerings from workshops, lecture demonstrations, creative discussions, arts promotions, awareness of Indian arts seminars, and performances- theme based, event based and others.
