We are proud to be the biggest joint venture in the stainless-steel industry between Tsingshan Industries from China and four prominent Indian business groups namely Sunrise Group, Suncity Group, JP ISCON Group and VD Group. We have our corporate office at Ahmedabad and the production plant is situated in Mundra, Gujarat. It is a step forward towards the “Make in India” initiative of our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. The groundbreaking ceremony of the manufacturing plant was done by Hon’ble Chief Minister - Shri Vijay Rupani on 23rd January 2018.
We aim at the production of around 1 million ton cold rolled coils starting June 2019 and additional 1 million cold rolled coils by 2021 apart from 4 million tons of hot rolled coils in 200 & 300 series till 2021. We also goal at reaching an integrated stainless-steel production capacity of around 4 million tons per annum by 2022 at our largest worldwide stainless-steel Hot Rolled Coils & Cold Rolled Coils manufacturing plant. To accomplish such huge production at a single location, we will be 4th such facility Worldwide. Phase 1 of this project will be completed by May 2019 with an investment of more than $170 million and the commercial production will start by the end of June 2019.
Through this joint venture, we want to make India one of the major stainless-steel manufacturers. We believe in giving back to society and so have focused on other areas such as employment generation, social welfare etc. We will be able to provide employment to around 12000-15000 individuals directly and 50000-60000 individuals indirectly. For coming years, we will strive to participate in CSR activities by independent donation to the schools, villages etc. With the growth of the company, we intend to grow our CSR initiatives for the society.
