The CIPnet project is a Joint Action implemented in China. The project aims to promote modernization and harmonization of intellectual property management practices in the higher education system, with a view to enhance university-industry collaborations and contribute to economic and social development.
The specific objective of the project is to establish a National Higher Education Intellectual Property Management Network (CIPnet) as a learning platform to foster modernisation, harmonization and strategic planning of IP management practices and regional integration in higher education of China.
The CIPnet project consortium consists of ten partners – three European universities and seven Chinese universities:
• Jagiellonian University, Poland – project coordinator
• University of Alicante, Spain
• Maastricht University, the Netherlands
• Beijing Institute of Technology, China
• Renmin University of China, China
• Lingnan Normal University, China
• Nankai University, China
• Southwest University, China
• Chongqing Three Gorges University, China
• East China University of Political Science and Law, China
The Project activities include, among others: Study Visits to EU partner Universities; conducting training needs analysis and benchmarking; creating IP Experts database; delivering 3 Train-the-Trainers workshops on IP management at universities in China; delivering 5 Online trainings; delivering replication workshops; CIPnet Launch Event to take place early in 2020 in Chongqing, China; Final Project Conference on IP Management Practices to take place in September 2020 in Shanghai, China; preparing the Blueprint for innovation & IP strategies for China.
