Citrolim Peru Overview

Citrolim has been a preeminent grower, producer, and supplier of lime products with more than 50 years of expertise in the citrus industry. Founded by the Readhimer family in 1971, the company began life as a lime processing plant based in western Mexico, eventually expanding into the Peruvian citrus market in 2020 with the establishment of a new facility previously known as Global Citrus International (GCI). This endeavor introduced new citrus production directly at the source via Acelim del Peru, with citrus growers establishing new farms directly upon the facility’s property. Berjé acquired both GCI and Acelim del Peru in 2024, integrating them into the Berjé family of companies and renaming them Citrolim Peru and Acelim, respectively. Both of these companies are located in the heart of Peru’s “Key Lime” producing region – often considered the highest quality lime in the Peruvian market. This location provides unparalleled access to Key Lime throughout the year. Berjé also maintains exclusive production rights to Citrolim Mexico, which provides high-quality lime products and additional citrus expertise. Together with Citrolim, Berjé has greatly expanded our portfolio of citrus products and strengthened our position at citrus sourcing locations. Our growers and processors in Peru and Mexico allow us to provide a wide range of new items including lime peel, lime pectin, and lime juice concentrate.
