Established and officially registered in 2021 by a collective of passionate young minds dedicated to the establishment of public libraries across Nepal, Civil Outlook aims to increase active citizenship across Nepal through educational initiatives. In a landscape where the numbers and standards of public libraries are disheartening, we primarily work with the local authorities, community schools and key stakeholders to revitalize existing libraries and create new ones where they are notably absent.
Through our initiative of fostering the importance of public libraries amongst the general people, we also want people to use these platforms as public discourse centres and not just libraries. The concept that public libraries should serve more than one purpose is central to our mission.
We hope that these places will not only hold books but will also act as dynamic forums for public dialogue. Through this strategy, we envisage these libraries becoming incubators for the development of tomorrow's leaders.
Apart from the aforementioned projects, we also work on:
1. Legal literacy and awareness
2. Book donation
3. Climate justice
4. Arranging ways for easy access to educational supplies for underprivileged students across Nepal.
