Introducing the Civil Rights Race Series! Our mission is to commemorate and honor the past while promoting a healthy lifestyle and supporting underserved communities. The series includes the Selma to Montgomery 51 Mile Relay and Bike Ride, among other events that fall within the National Park Service's Civil Rights Trail.
Our goals are three-fold:
1. Remembering and celebrating the past: We strive to keep the legacy of the civil rights movement alive by highlighting the historic sites and individuals that were integral to its success.
2. Espousing fitness as a vital component of living: We believe that physical health is an essential part of leading a happy and fulfilling life. Through our events, we encourage participants to challenge themselves and prioritize their well-being.
3. Economic development through the leveraging of funds to organizations and businesses in underserved communities: We're committed to supporting the communities that have been historically marginalized by investing in local organizations and businesses. By doing so, we hope to promote economic growth and prosperity in these areas.
