CivSource South Africa is the South African chapter of CivSource Africa, an independent advisory firm, committed to nurturing a more sustainable, effective, and connected civil society, which advances the dignity and voices of all people.
Whereas CivSource Africa is headquartered in Kampala Uganda, its vision and mandate are Africa-wide. CivSource South Africa was registered in September 2021 as part of CivSource Africa’s efforts to expand her work and reach on the continent, focusing on the Southern Africa region.
Being an independent advisory firm committed to nurturing a more sustainable, effective, and connected civil society, that advances the dignity and voices of all people, CivSource Africa promotes reflective, responsive, and accountable philanthropic practice. Her vision is “Philanthropy that works and Civil Society that thrives” while the mission is “To harness the potential of civil society in Africa through building strength, shaping narratives and influencing the practice of philanthropy”. CivSource Africa provides advisory services to philanthropists, does grant-making, promotes local philanthropy and provides several leadership-strengthening offerings.
