Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: We can work together collaboratively in softly challenging distorted unhelpful/exaggerated/unrealistic harsh judgements/thoughts/beliefs that appear during your distress. Just because we have a thought doesn't make it true. We can work together to accept uncomfortable emotions/physical symptoms rather than act harsh towards them. Our emotions, although sometimes misguided, are trying to help us and we can take a more thankful/flexible attitude of allowing them to be there even through they are very unpleasant. Treats chronic pain, psychosis, anxiety, depression, and addiction. Cognitive Processing Therapy: The average CPT-treated participant fared better than 89% of those in inactive control conditions at posttreatment and 82% at follow-up. CPT is a manualized therapy that is well researched and proven to significantly reduce Post Traumatic Stress Disorder symptoms. It is generally delivered over 12 sessions and helps clients learn how to challenge and modify unhelpful beliefs related to the trauma.
