The CLCPRO was composed at its creation of 9 countries of West and North-West Africa: Algeria, Libya, Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Chad and Tunisia. In June 2004, and after a request for membership submitted by Burkina-Faso to become a member of the CLCPRO (request accepted), the number of member countries increased to 10.
