CLEAN-Air(Africa) is a partnership of world leading public health academics, researchers and clinicians from the UK, Cameroon, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda who are conducting high quality research to inform equitable scale of clean cooking for global public health. CLEAN-Air(Africa) is funded by the UK government (National Institute for Health Research) as a Global Health Research Unit to reduce the burden of disease from exposure to air pollution from combustion of polluting solid fuels and kerosene.
We aim to reduce the burden of disease from energy poverty-related air pollution in sub-Saharan Africa through research evidence to support policies for scaling clean cooking and by strengthening community and clinical health systems prevention of household air pollution
